Hello and welcome back to my blog.  I hope those of you stopping by from the U.S. had a meaningful Thanksgiving filled with family, friends, and those you love.  I know I did.

This weeks sponsors are Little Blue Button Stamps and Limited Run Digital Stamps.  In keeping with Thanksgiving I created a Thank You card using the Peony digi by Little Blue Button Stamps.  Below is a picture of the outside of the card, as well as in the inside left hand side of the card.

To create this card I did the following:

  1. Print the image onto Crafter’s Companion White Ultra Smooth Premium Cardstock.
  2. Color the image with  Spectrum Noir Colored Pencils with the following color combinations:
    1. Flower:  Pink Gluwh, Antique Rose, Raspberry
    2. Stem:  Amazon Green, Jade, Alpine
    3. Sky:  Duck Blue
  3. When coloring with the colored pencils, color the image

with one color family then using the Gamasol and a Paper Stump, blend the colors together using small circular motions.  When you finish blending one color family, clean the Paper Stump by

sanding it down with sand paper so the stump is clean.  Then do the next color family.

  4. Paper Layout

    Paper Layout

I found two pieces of scrap paper that had previously been cut using the Kiwi Lane templates.  I cut strips 2″ wide by 5 1/2″ long.  I inked the edges with Seedless Grape Distress Ink.

  5. I repeated the paper layout as described in step four creating the outside of the card, and reversing the paper order.
  6. I chose a saved digital cutting file I downloaded previously and cut it using my Bosskut Gazelle die cut machine.
  7. Using a Thank you stamp from one of my Autum sets, I carefully stamped the words thank and you from a straight stamp one above the other in Versamark Ink.
  8. I embossed the stamped message with clear embossing powder.

  9. I inked the die cut using Seedless Preserves and Dusty Concord Ranger Distress Inks.  I wiped off the ink from the sentiment covered in clear embossing powder which resisted the ink, leaving the original color visible beneath.
  10. I adhered the die cut to the front of the card and the flower to the inside.

And the card is complete!  I hope that you like the card and try these techniques.  Please share your feedback with me.
