FFC 154 Roses are not Always Red

Hello and welcome back to my blog.  I am so glad that you could stop by for a visit.  I want to wish my Aunt a very Happy Birthday!  I created this card for her birthday later this month.  Our sponsor this month is Scrapper’s Delight.  I chose the Rose & Tag digi.

Rose & Butterfly Birthday Card

To create this card I did the following:

1. Print the image onto Crafter’s Companion White Ultra Smooth Premium Cardstock.
2. Color the image.  I used Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers with the following color combinations:
   1. Rose:  OR1, OR2, OR3, DR1

      Blending & Stenciling

   2. Stem:  JG1, JG2, DG3
   3. Leaf:  LG2, LG3, LG4, IG3
   4. Butterfly:  OR1, CR7, GB4, OR3, EB7
   5. Outline BT3
3. Fussy cut the images from the cardstock.
4. Cut a piece of what cardstock 4″ x 5″.  Blend the following distress inks:
   1. Worn Lipstick
   2. Shabby Shjutters
   3. Wild Honey
   4. Ripe Persimon
5. Using The Crafter’s Workshop Mini Butterfly Collage stencil and Pumice Stone distress ink to ink the stencil over the card.  Pick up and move once to cover more

   Vertical Sentiment

   area.

6. Ink the edges with the same Pumice Stone distress ink.
7. I chose a vertical sentiment because it fit this card so well from my vertical Stamps of Life set.

8. I cut a piece of a bright light green cardstock into a side fold 5 1/4″ x 4 1/2″ card.
9. On the back of the card, from another Stamps of Life set, I stamped on of my favorite handmade sentiments.

I hope you enjoy creating a card similar to this as much as I have.  Now shhh…. don’t tell my Aunt, her birthday isn’t until later in the month
