- Welcome back my friends! I hope you are well. I was thinking some warm thoughts during this cold week as I put together this week’s challenge. This week’s sponsor is A Day for Daisies; I chose the image Treasure.
To create this tag, I did the following:
- Print the image onto Crafter’s Companion White Ultra Smooth Premium Cardstock.
- Color your image with Alcohol Markers. I used Spectrum
Noir Alcohol Markers with the following color combinations:
- Skin – FS1, FS2, FS5, FS8
- Hari – GB8, GB10, EB7
- Bathing Suit – CR3, CR4, CR6
- Sand – TN2, TN3, TN7
- Seashells – TN3, TN3, FS5
- Ocean – BT3, BT6, BT7, DG3
- Sky – TB2, TB3, TB7
- Notice as part of the image coloring digi part 2 underneath the image, on a scrap part of the paper, I did several practice blends. I highly recommend you do this too.
- Cut a circle of cardstock. Tip: My favorite circle and oval cutters are from Creative Memories. Of all the ones I have tried over the years, these work best.
- Cover the cardstock in gesso. Hint: I use two coats. Thin coats will dry quickly.
- Now there is a white surface for your chipboard. Using gesso is necessary only if you use raw (uncoated) chipboard. I chose to cover the chipboard with Distress Ink.
- Use the Tim Holtz Blender tool to cover the chipboard. I
used the following colors: Rusty Hinge, Gathered Twig, Salty Ocean, and Stormy Sky.
- I used two stamps on the tags. First, I used a seashell background stamp with brown chalk ink then wave boarder stamp with Broken China ink.
- I used glue dots to glue down the colored image onto the tag.
I hope you will give this tag a try!
