Welcome back to my blog! This week I decided to do something a little different and scrap a layout. Scrapbooking my memories in layouts is my passion and I have long been an 8.5″ x 11″ scrapper.
This week’s sponsor is Bugaboo and I used the book stack image to create a layout depicting my niece reading.

Reading
To create this simple layout I did the following:
- Print the digital image on Crafter’s Companion White Ultra Smooth Premium Cardstock.
- Color the image. I used my Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers. HINT: I outlined the image using the IG3, a light grey color.
- I selected the paper I wanted to use. I chose a bookworm paper to go with my reading theme and a red and orange patterned paper to match. I used a strip of navy blue paper to act as a ribbon.
- I cut the bookworm paper in a strip of 11″ x 3″. I cut the red and orange in blocks of 5.5″ x 6″. I glued the blocks down first, and then the book worm paper. I like to leave a bit of room for overlap. This prevents empty spaces.
- I cut a 1/2″ strip of navy blue cardstock and embossed it with a dot pattern.
- I trimmed my 3″x5″ photo and matted it on a cream cardstock. I left the bottom of the mat larger so I could use that as a journaling spot.
- I used my Gazelle to cut the title Reading in the same navy cardstock.

- I don’t like to try and glue down the tiny dots of the letter i, instead I substitute either some form of bling, liquid pearl or stickels. In this case I used some bling.
